What if I don't know what books I need?

You don't need to know the books, just the courses. We'll show you all required and optional textbooks associated with MSU classes.

What if my course isn't listed?
|
|
If your course is not listed it means that we have not yet received a requisition from the instructor for that class. Our database is updated constantly, so please check back soon. As soon as we receive the requisition from the professor, the course's book information will be available online.

What if I want a book not shown for a class?
|
|
For textbooks not relating to MSU classes, we've teamed up with MBS Textbook Exchange - America's leading textbook wholesaler. Use STUDYtactics for textbooks not available at bookstore.moreheadstate.edu or when you want to search for a specific title not associated with an MSU course. This website also contains over 10,000 academic links to with research.
STUDYtactics is our order fulfillment service for non-MSU textbooks. They pack and ship your books directly to you from their distribution center in Missouri.

Does the Bookstore Choose the Textbooks it sells?

No, textbooks are selected by academic departments and the instructors that teach the course. The Bookstore orders the books that are submitted.

How do you determine the books you will need for your course(s)?
|
|
Based on the textbooks selected by the academic department and instructors, the bookstore labels each book either required or optional. Bring a printed class schedule with you, it will make it much easier to find your course and the books you need. X

Does the Bookstore sometimes run out of or not have a book for the course?
|
|
As a state college, we respond to the need of the community that we serve. On occasion you may find that we do not have the book for your course or perhaps we have run out of the title. The reasons for this vary, but are usually due to:
§ The publisher is out-of-stock.
o The college has responded to the increased need for a particular course by adding a section during late registration. If this happens, the order for this course comes in either right before the beginning of the semester or after it has started.
o The professor has changed and is not using the same books as the originally scheduled instructor.
o Honest mistakes
Whatever the case may be, we make every effort to get the books in as quickly as possible and with as little inconvenience to the students as possible.
